How do I register?

Your first step is to determine whether you need to register your business with us. Remember that you do not register your products, chemicals or ingredients.

Foreign (non-Australian) businesses: you must have an Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN) to register with us.

Business registrations and renewals are online at NICNAS Business Services.

If you need to register with us, your next step is to calculate your registration level.

After calculating your registration level, register online with us and pay the fee that applies to your registration level.

You may also need to notify your chemical or have a chemical assessed by us before you import or manufacture that chemical.

You must register with us before you start importing or manufacturing.

When registering ensure you:

  • provide required information
  • pay your registration fee (BPAY,EFT, cheque, credit card)

Once we process your application, you will be given a registration number and be issued with a registration certificate. Your name (as importer and/or manufacturer) will then be placed on the Register of Industrial Chemicals Introducers.

Your registration remains in effect until 31 August each year. There is no pro-rata registration.
