Training and Outreach Sessions - Nationwide

NICNAS’s preferred approach to ensuring compliance with our legislation is to work with industry, providing advice to help you understand your regulatory obligations, and assistance in finding the most practical way to meet those obligations.

 

As part of our commitment to raising industry awareness, NICNAS conducts free training and awareness sessions each year. These training sessions are open to all interested stakeholders, such as registered chemical introducers, regulatory consultants and customs brokers.

 

NICNAS officers will be touring nationwide during 2012-13 conducting stakeholders training sessions, and are seeking an expression of interest on attendance.

The training will cover your regulatory obligations as an introducer of industrial chemicals and also provide updates about changes to the regulatory landscape which may affect you.

The sessions are free, go for approx. 2-2.5 hours, and the topics discussed include:

1. Overview of regulatory obligations for all chemical introducers;
2. NICNAS Registration;
3. The Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS) and searching listed chemicals;
4. NICNAS registration for imported or manufactured cosmetics;
5. Cosmetics vs Therapeutic goods & The Cosmetic Guidelines;
6. New industrial chemicals;
7. Existing Chemicals and the assessment and prioritisation of existing chemicals on the AICS -IMAP
8. NICNAS Business Review and Regulatory Impact Statements- how well is NICNAS performing and what changes to expect in the future
9. Nanomaterials; and
10. NICNAS Compliance & Enforcement functions.
