Exempt Notification Information

Applicant(s) may request that certain information contained in their notification (defined in section 75 of the Act) is not released to the public.

Consideration of claims for exempt information is based on a balance between commercial and public interests. For this reason, certain information is not eligible for exemption.

Often claims for exempt information refer to the specific identity of the chemical. If agreed, NICNAS would not reveal these items in its published Public Report or in the Chemical Gazette.

Applications for Exempt information can be made on the relevant Forms for each notification category.
