Standard and Limited Assessments (NA)

These categories cover the majority of NICNAS certificate assessments, including all low molecular weight chemicals, all polymers prior to the introduction of the Synthetic Polymer of Low Concern category, and all polymers since then which do not qualify as Synthetic Polymers of Low Concern. Limited Assessments are for chemicals being introduced at less than 1 tonne per annum, for polymers of Number Average Molecular Weight greater than 1000 imported at greater than 1 tonne per annum, site limited polymers at <10 tonnes per year or chemicals for R & D at between 50 kg and 1 tonne per year. For Limited Assessments, the data requirements are lower than for Standard Assessments.

In these categories, the publicly available reports consist of a Summary Report and a Full Public Report. The Summary Report is accessed from the Alphabetical Index below. The Full Public Report for each chemical can be downloaded in .pdf format from the bottom of the respective Summary Report page.

For each chemical, there is an indication in the index as to whether the assessment has determined that it is a hazardous substance in accordance with the ASCC Approved Criteria for Classifying Hazardous Substances, indicated by H, or if no classification has been determined, indicated by ND.

Polymers of Low Concern (PLC)

This category covers polymers which meet low concern criteria for human health and the environment. In this category, the assessment consists of a Full Public Report. The Full Public Report for each of the PLC can be downloaded in .pdf format from the Alphabetical Index below. For more recent PLC assessments, the reports consists of a Summary Report and a Full Public Report. The Summary Report is accessed from the Alphabetical Index below. The Full Public Report for each chemical can be downloaded in .pdf format from the bottom of the respective Summary Report page.

For each polymer, there is an indication as to whether the assessment has determined that it is a hazardous substance in accordance with the ASCC Approved Criteria for Classifying Hazardous Substances, indicated by H, or if no classification has been determined, indicated by ND.

Extensions of Original Certificates (EX)

This category covers chemicals which have previously been assessed and the certificate has been extended to cover other companies wishing to introduce the chemical, with the agreement of the original notifier. For this category, the assessment consists of a Summary Report and a Full Public Report. The Summary Report is accessed from the Alphabetical Index below. The Full Public Report for each chemical can be downloaded in .pdf format from the bottom of the respective Summary Report page.

For each chemical, there is an indication as to whether the assessment has determined that it is a hazardous substance in accordance with the ASCC Approved Criteria for Classifying Hazardous Substances, indicated by H, or if no classification has been determined, indicated by ND.
