NICNAS aims to reduce the burden on industry and government
by participating in international harmonisation and
work-sharing activities which can lead to gains in efficiency, effectiveness
and consistency with other national schemes.
During the year, NICNAS participated in several key international forums on harmonisation of the health and safety assessment and risk management of new and existing industrial chemicals. This involvement helps ensure best practice in domestic chemical regulatory activities and more efficient regulation, by eliminating duplication of effort between countries.
