Financial
Services arrangements
NICNAS operates within the broad framework established by DoHA
and financial services are purchased through a service level agreement from the
TGA. These administrative arrangements include financial processing and
reporting, with the associated quality assurance procedures, and purchasing and
procurement.
For details of NICNAS’s financial
performance in 2006-07, please see details provided in the summary in Director’s
overview and the Abstract from the Financial statements (Appendix
01).
NICNAS
Registration
In 2006-07 NICNAS continued industry awareness and compliance and follow-up
activities in relation to NICNAS Registration. Table
20 provides a breakdown of 2006-07 registrations compared to the previous year.
As at 30 June 2007, there were 5339 registrants listed in the Register of
Industrial Chemical Introducers. While this is an overall six per cent decrease
in the overall number of registered companies from June 2006, there continues
to be a high turnover of non-renewals and new registrations in the lower tier
level. NICNAS maintained administrative support to manage the high volume of registration
renewals, new registrations, upgrades and non-renewals.
