The existing MOU between NICNAS (via DoHA ) and the Commissioner of Taxation in his capacity as the Registrar of the Australian Business Register was extended by 12 months to cover 2005-06. The relationship provided an invaluable means of tracking unregistered introducers of relevant industrial chemicals who were otherwise not contactable.

In coming years the information provided via the MOU will be used to profile registrants by their Australian New Zealand Standard Industry Classification ( ANZSIC) code enabling NICNAS to develop a more accurate representation of industry participants and target particular industries for education and compliance activities.
