My company has a number of different sites, some of which are interstate. Does each site have to register individually?

If your company has various sites, and these sites are part of the same company (i.e. having the same ACN), you are only required to register once.

However, if these sites are separate legal entities (e.g. subsidiaries), which have their own ACN, each company in the group that imports and/or manufactures relevant industrial chemicals is required to register separately..
