How do I know if my product is a therapeutic good or a cosmetic?

If the product meets the definition of a cosmetic under the ICNA Act and meets all the requirements set out in the Cosmetics Standard 2007 then it is a cosmetic and is regulated by NICNAS. The new NICNAS Cosmetics Guidelines provide a plain English guide to the requirements under the ICNA Act and Cosmetics Standard.

One of the requirements is that a cosmetic product does NOT include a therapeutic good within the meaning of the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989.
