Cosmetics FAQs Will removal of GMP requirements pose a risk to the consumer? The only cosmetic products that previously required adherence with GMP requirements are moisturisers with secondary sunscreen and antibacterial skin products.
Under the changed arrangements, product liability will now be governed by the Trade Practices Act 1974, which allows for legal action against the supplier of a defective product that results in injury or loss.
