All my chemicals are regulated by the TGA, do I need to report to NICNAS as well?

 

No. Chemicals which only have a therapeutic use or only have a use as an ingredient or component in the preparation or manufacture of goods for therapeutic use are excluded from NICNAS requirements. Other excluded uses include:

• Use as an agricultural chemical or a constituent of an agricultural chemical; or

• Use as a veterinary chemical or a constituent of a veterinary chemical; or

• Use as food, food additive, or food constituent intended for consumption by humans or animals.

A chemical used for no other use than any of the above excluded uses are excluded from NICNAS requirements.
