Better Regulation of Industrial Chemicals

A Better Regulation Ministerial Partnership between the Minister for Finance and Deregulation and the Minister for Health and Ageing has been established to evaluate and make recommendations on the regulatory settings for the notification, assessment and regulation of industrial chemicals.

Diethyl Phthalate (DEP) - Release of Draft Public Health Risk Assessment Report for Public Comment

The draft Priority Existing Chemical (PEC) assessment report for DEP is now available for public comment. The public comment period closes on 04 October 2011. More information can be found on the Consultations page, under the heading 'Open Consultations'.

Extended Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Zealand

As a result of the permanent exemption given to industrial chemicals under the Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition Arrangement the MoU with the Environmental Risk Management Authority of New Zealand (ERMA) has been reviewed and a new co-operative workplan established.
